(Human Sponge)
I am a Chicago-based brand, design and innovation strategist with an unbridled passion to uncover, carefully craft and communicate stories.
Because my passion has turned profession, I consider myself lucky; storytelling has always been in my DNA. While it started with investigative journalism, my experience repertoire now encompasses the strategy and stories of people, experiences, products and brands: behemoth B2B to household staple CPG, luxury to mass to non-profit, Fortune 50 to startup.
While currently working remotely as a senior brand strategist for San Francisco-based branding and design agency Character, I’m a born-and-bred Chicagoan who attended school down South at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During my college years, I lived and worked in the whirlwind editorial worlds of New York City and Los Angeles but landed in Chicago. There, I worked as a brand strategist at VSA Partners, a design-driven branding and marketing firm, and global ad agency Leo Burnett. Prior to my current gig, I worked as a design strategist at Yves Béhar's industrial design studio fuseproject.
Amidst this more than 5-year, zig-zaggity, cross-country adventure to fuel this passion of mine, I’ve fostered some qualitative research skills and — whether it be a blessing or a curse — discovered a fundamental truth: my happiness is contingent on an ever-ceaseless stream of learning something new — a skill, a fact, a framework, a client’s background, a school of thought.
My free time is spent dabbling in meat and cheese boards, stalking wiener dogs and pulling pranks on my scapegoat friends; if any of those hobbies interest you — or you’d like to work with me — shoot me a note.
